Coachella kicks off this Friday, April 11th in Indio, California.  Some would be surprised just how high tech the music festival is becoming.  It was announced earlier this week that Apple’s iBeacon will be used at this year’s festival.  Attendees will be able to interact via iBeacon all over the festival grounds.  Their website has all the necessary information along with a mobile version which is much like the app that is available on Apple’s App Store as well as Google Play.  Information available for festival goers include set times, map of festival grounds, and important information for the ultimate Coachella experience.

The music and arts festival runs for 2 weekends, 3 days each showcasing more than 150 acts.  Its immense popularity brings out an estimated 100,000 people annually to the desert for a truly unique experience.  Ticket sales broke records when they sold out in just 2 hours and 37 minutes on January 10th surpassing 2012’s record of 2 hours and 57 minutes.  Ever since its debut in 1999, Coachella has been growing in numbers offering some of the best in music all in one place.  This year’s line-up features artists such as Outkast, Lana Del Rey, Pharrel Williams, Ellie Goulding and many many more.  If you’re planning your Coachella weekend make sure to download the app and visit the website for all the details.
