According to the New York Times, Apple issued a statement reporting a batch iPhone 5s were manufactured with a defective battery.  The defective battery causes the phone to drain a lot faster than it should and makes it difficult to fully charge.  Teresa Brewer, Apple spokeswoman, has released information that they are contacting those who have purchased defective iPhone 5s to be able to replace it with a new one.iphone_5s
