Robin From Nextbit The Geek September 1, 2015 Kickstarter & Indiegogo Campaigns Nextbit has launched their Kickstarter campaign today introducing Robin, the latest in smartphone innovation. Robin uses cloud integration within its Android OS and Nextbit has taken caution to make sure the phone itself is truly inspiring. Your storage knows no bounds; you will no longer have to worry about running out of space with the cloud working for you. It literally expands your storage as you need it, Robin will learn which apps you use often and how much space is need to run them; then it will move any apps or files onto the cloud if you don’t use them often. You won’t have to sacrifice apps you don’t necessarily use every day or files you need once in a while just to have your phone the way you like it. Whenever Robin is connected to Wi-Fi and is powered up, it will back up your apps and photos; settings are customizable but they are initially set this way to conserve power. Once it learns what apps you like to use more than others it will adjust accordingly, making space on your phone for whatever you might need. It is also just as easy to get an app back from the cloud should you need it, a simple tap and you’re set. Nextbit has designed Robin to be exactly what all Android users love but have not been able to get just yet. They aimed for a simple interface and left out all the excess clutter. Robin has four small lights on the back that will allow you to know that it is connected to the cloud; there’s a LED at the bottom that alerts you of notifications. It’s powerful and has long battery life; by default it is set to save power so that you can go longer without having to plug in. Just because it is from a company that you may not have heard of before, you will still get a high quality camera and processor. You won’t feel like you’re sacrificing anything; only gaining everything. Their Early Adopter Special for $299 is already sold out, but with their $349 Kickstarter Special you will receive Robin in your choice of Midnight or Mint, a charging cable, a special SIM tray, and 100GB of additional online storage. For just $50 more you can get the Kickstarter Special package plus a case and vinyl mascot toy.
