Before people could jump onto the computer and search for items they wished to purchase, they had to look through phonebooks to find appropriate outlets.  Amazon founder and CEO, Jeff Bezos, wanted to become the first place people would look for all their needs.  Bezos chose “Amazon” specifically because it represented one of the largest rivers in the world, and he aspired to become the largest online store that offers everything and anything anyone could want to buy.  In Amazon’s logo, the arrow that points from the first letter “A” to “z” indicates that they have everything from “A-Z”.
